This is one of those moments wherein fellow fangirls would understand while the rest would find it trivial or insignificant. I found out something today and it made me smile.
A few years back, I was always in correspondence with this individual when we had events. This person that I would meet with was a very nice lady and we would often have coffee to discuss those projects. But I switched jobs and I never got to talk to her in-depth again. Though we would bump into each other in certain places and say hi.
Zoom in to the present. While I was surfing last night, I came across an article about her which listed her educational status and guess where she graduated from college? You guessed it right...Keio University! Since I became an Arashi fan, I never thought that I would meet someone from Keio. But all these years, I actually know someone and it just popped out when you least expect it.
INXS: Still downloading! But it's pure and unadulterated happiness so all is good. XD
It started out as a very comfortable evening at home with me downloading as always even though the speed was slower than usual. At the same time, I was watching the Arashi shows I've missed last week. After I was done with the first batch of downloads, I was surprised to find out that I have exceeded my downloading limit.
Amazing, isn't it? The Arashi Challenge Week has just started and something like this happened. I wonder what did I download for me to go beyond the limit. Hmmm? A LOT. LOTS OF ARASHI. Haha! XD
But hopefully my back-up plan will work. I can't wait to get home to try it. *crosses my fingers and toes*
My Japanese-English dictionary, that is.
When I bought it four years ago, my mind was most probably telling my subconscious that I will be in this fandom for the long haul. Being the OC that I am, I want things neat and clean. But I didn't cover my dictionary with plastic or any form of protection at all. I want to see it shabby and worn out from overuse. I want to see the pages damaged with the corners dog-eared from my constant flipping.
Who would have thought that I would last this long? All thanks to 5 Stormy Boys. XD
...for making me like "Love Namida Iro" too much! XD
Ever since Haruna Ai guested on Shukudai-kun, this song has been a staple companion in my iPod music list for the longest time. It was the perfect background music when Ai-chan was being all lovey-dovey towards Sho but Mr. Sakurai was swiping away all her advances. Haha!
Here's Aya Matsuura and a different take on this love anthem which totally reminds me of Sho. :)
I was rewatching a show hosted by Shounentai wherein Arashi chose Ohno as their leader. It just hit me that at the end of this program, Nino mentioned that he liked a song by Nuno Bettencourt. I love that man! He was part of the band Extreme and their song "More than Words" was a national anthem for lovestruck people back then. But he's better known in the underground circuit as a kick-ass guitarist. And if I may add, I do also like his silky black hair. XD
INXS 1: Nino, I love the Smurfs, too! Haha! And it's funny in a way because Nino, technically, loves little things. For example, he loves Smurfs which are tiny. He admires Nuno and Nuno sa punso in Tagalog when translated means a dwarf-like creature in Philippine mythology. The coincidences keep popping up.
INXS 2: Arashi, it should be us thanking all of you for making our lives one hell of a roller coaster ride. :)
I remember a few months back as I was watching the nightly news on Channel NewsAsia, a reviewer was discussing how Brittany Murphy's latest movie touched her. She was narrating how the very simple and overused theme of being dumped, getting up and finding yourself again is something that everyone can relate to. But of course, the twist would be finding your inner self in Japan through the beauty of ramen.
That made me curious about "The Ramen Girl"...
I finally got to watch it last Wednesday on Star Movies. But here was the thing that surprised me. As the credits were rolling, guess who the director was?
Robert Allan Ackerman! Ack! Nino's director in his "Strangers on a Train" butai. Somehow, there's always an Arashi connection no matter how little that snippet may be which constantly pops up in my daily life. That made me so happy! I am such a fangirl.
Happy weekend, everyone! :)
Words fail me right now.
I was going to put this in my personal blog but decided otherwise. I grew up listening to his music. I remember my parents getting home one day with a bootleg copy of the Thriller PV because one just can't download music clips since the internet was non-existent back then. My blog up until now contain entries about him and his music. Going to work and going back home was always complete with me listening to "Rock With You" in my iPod. My family and closest friends knew that it was my national anthem.
And the only memory I have of him in my vox were these two songs that I absolutely love. These were posted two years ago since both perked me
up during a moment when I was so down and out.
I actually found out about Yuko Miyazawa through my dad when I came home from work 3 days ago. Everything about Japan that my dad sees on TV, he tells me immediately. He even now faithfully watches the NHK channel on cable.
Yuto Miyazawa was a guest on Ellen and this little boy is a nine year-old guitar phenom! I am in awe of his immense talent. He plays the guitar effortlessly. But what grabbed my attention the most was his humility. Even at an early age, he is aware that being humble gets the respect you deserve. And I love how genki he is! Yuto really interacts with Ellen and if you check out the clip until the very end, you'll get what I mean about his humility. Seeing his idol and the sparkle in his eyes made me teary-eyed. I just love this kid! :)
Enjoy and happy weekend as always! This is so out of the blue but I felt giggly inside when I saw this. It's like I'm back in high school again.
It's just too cute when a guy you like wears something that you gave to
him. Because you know that a guy wouldn't really buy a mobile phone
accessory much more a buta cellphone charm. But Bito wears it so
proudly! It's proof enough that he likes Hana. ♥
I just noticed this last Saturday while I was rewatching the Tensai episode with Sho as their guest. Aside from posters plastered all over his house, Hatori-san even has an uchiwa on his wall! Amazing! I suddenly wondered how his room looks like. Will there be more Arashi posters in there?
